A Kaleidoscopic Day

Today was an extremely kaleidoscopic day. The assistant resident director emphasized the language pledge in the morning assembly in English so that every student could understand the importance of our purpose clearly, which is definitely helping them create the immersive Chinese environment and guarantee their security and safety. Communicating through music and dance!

Our students at the academy are making huge strides communicating using Spanish everywhere and at anytime. But that's not the only way they are getting to know each other.... They are also using music and dance to express themselves here at the academy! Last week, they had a weeklong cultural exploration class, Baile Latino, where they learned Latin dances, such as merengue, bachata, salsa and cumbia. These kids quickly learned how fun it is to dance with a partner and they showcased what they learned on one of the academic assemblies on Thursday evening....
